Your wedding ceremony should sound like you.

Not like a template. Not like someone else’s love story. And definitely not like a ceremony you sat through wondering, “Wait… who are we talking about?”

I’m Yemisi, a Brooklyn-based wedding officiant, and I believe your “I do” deserves to be personal, intentional, and unmistakably yours.

Whether you’re exchanging vows on a Brooklyn rooftop, getting married under the bridge, keeping it intimate at City Hall, celebrating on the beach, or creating a ceremony that doesn’t look anything like a traditional wedding, I’m here to help you make it meaningful. No traditions required—unless you want them.

My approach is equal parts heart and organization. I’ve spent more than a decade leading complex operations and community-focused work across New York City, so I know how to stay calm when plans change, keep the details moving, and make sure everyone knows what’s happening next. In other words: you get to focus on getting married. I’ll help take care of the rest.

As a longtime Brooklynite and member of Brooklyn Community Board 14, I’m deeply connected to the communities I call home, including Flatbush, Midwood, and Kensington. That sense of community is at the heart of how I approach every ceremony: with curiosity, respect, and a genuine interest in the people standing in front of me.

I’ve been ordained since 2020, and one thing has become very clear to me: the best ceremonies aren’t necessarily the biggest, fanciest, or most traditional. They’re the ones that feel true.

Secular or spiritual. LGBTQIA+ or straight. Blended families, second chances, unconventional love stories, big personalities, quiet moments, happy chaos—I’m here for all of it.

Because your ceremony isn't a performance.

It’s the first chapter of your marriage, and it should sound like the two of you.

So if you're planning something intimate, unconventional, spontaneous, deeply meaningful—or some combination of all four—I'd be honored to help you Say Yes.
